Assembly Arts Members Groups

Our ethos at Assembly Arts is very much about learning from one another as creative practitioners and we have established Members Groups to provide opportunities for collaboration and peer support. Analyse and the Assembly Photographic Collective are detailed below, and a peer support group for grant/opportunity applications is currently being developed. Please get in contact if you would like to be part of the development of that group.

Analyse

Meeting monthly at 7pm on Tuesday evenings Analyse is an informal and friendly forum to discuss contemporary art practices. Led by the group and including invited speakers, the sessions are a great way to find out more about contemporary art, current trends and prevailing attitudes to creative practice. All Assembly Arts members are welcome to come along and the sessions are a great way to meet like minded artists and creative.  The group recently visited Leeds to see The Traumatic Surreal exhibition at the Henry Moore Institute.

Assembly Photographic Collective

Also meeting meeting monthly at 7pm on Tuesday evenings, the Assembly Photographic Collective aims to provide a supportive and collaborative space in which photographers in the Lancaster region can share their practice.  Emphasis is placed on socially and culturally engaged photography, including experimental and alternative techniques.

Underpinned by an ethos embracing a kind and respectful attitude, the group shares knowledge and experiences pertaining to photographic practice, including exploring mutually agreed topics and techniques.  Members have opportunities to expand and promote their practice including through group exhibitions, workshops and trips.
