Our ceramics space contains an electric Shimpo whisper-T Pottery wheel, complete with full batt system, and a traditional kick wheel. Standing height working/wedging table, plenty of storage and a range of clays and glazes. We have a small Rhode 43l kiln which fires up to 1300C.

Hire is £25 for 3 hours (£20 for members), and this includes:

-Use of the wheels and working/wedging table.

-Reclaim​ Stoneware

-The firing of one or two smaller items

-Use of a range of slips, under glazes and glaze

- Storage of a small number of pieces between sessions

- Use of our selection of throwing, turning and hand building tools.

With optional extras:

​- Firing of more than two pieces of work produced during the session, starting at £2 per mug sized item which includes the bisque and the glaze firing.

- Locker to store tools, glazes and other gear (£5 per month)

- Bags of clay that can be bought and kept on site (B17c £21 per 12.5kg. Other clays are available on request)

- Firing of work produced at home: £15 bisque / £30 glaze for a  full kiln firing and £10 bisque/£20 glaze for a half kiln respectively.

There is no requirement for you to use clays or glazes purchased or provided here at the studio, or to fire your work in our kiln. If you do bring in alternative clay, please ensure you are able to identify the clay fully. Glazes will all need to be test fired before use on the exterior of any items. ​
