An Introduction to Oil Painting - Saturday 8 November 2025 2.30-5.30pm Are you looking to start oil painting for the first time and aren't sure where to begin? Is the idea of long drying times and multiple mediums concerning you to the point of confusion? This autumn be led by artist and art teacher Saskia Wallbridge in a one off 3-hour oil painting workshop. You will be provided with the space, materials, information, and direction from Saskia to create a still-life oil painting that you can take pride in and develop your painting skills. -18+ -Complete beginner to experienced -Bring yourself: all materials provided -Better than online content: real-life, hands-on help from a professional in a welcoming environment, questions welcome too! -Engage with the history and practice of oil painting What we will cover: -The basic foundations and transferring the practice to the home -Technical skills of the following -Layering correctly -Colour Theory -Shadow and Light Sources -Composition and Focal Point Saskia Wallbridge is a qualified Art and Design teacher who works in the North West of England and has worked in Cornwall. Based in Lancaster, Saskia is passionate about sharing her acquired art skills with you , having graduated in Fine Art and Creative Writing at Lancaster University. Cancellation Policy
We understand that plans can change. Our refund policy allows for cancellations up to 7 days before the course start date for a full refund minus any banking fees that were incurred when you booked. In the case of emergency (medical or family) cancellations made within 7 days of the start date may be eligible for a partial refund or credit towards a future course. If we need to cancel your course you'll be offered a place on another course if available at no extra cost, a place on a course in the following term, or a full refund if preferred.
