Service Description
Drop ins are perfect for those who have some experience and aren't able to sign up for the full term - sign up for 1 or 4 flexible sessions over the term. *Who drop-ins are for* Emma - Has the introduction to drawing course under her belt and would love to come to the full term but knows she's only able to commit to 4 of the 6 weeks. Winston - Loves to draw and fancies trying out one or two sessions this term to see what it's like before committing to all 6 next term. *Who drop-ins *aren't for* Brad - Wants to come to all 6 sessions. Brad could get a better deal signing up for the term! Stephanie - Has very little experience with drawing and isn't sure she'd know where to begin. She should sign up for the introduction to drawing class instead. Drawing: Our Drawing Drop-In sessions are for those looking to work on their drawings or other pieces in a social setting. Each week, our facilitator will provide drawing prompts via props, materials, and warm ups — these can be interacted with if they are inspiring, or participants can work on their own projects. This will be a casual making atmosphere, where artists can chat about current projects, and ask for advice or peer feedback should they want it! Week 1 - PROMPT: Introduction Lunch. We will start with a welcome session, there will be food which you can eat, draw, or draw with! Week 2 - PROMPT: New Materials This week, there will be a variety of papers, fabrics, wood, and more unconventional materials which you can draw on, draw, or draw with. Week 3 - PROMPT: Books! This week will be furnished by a variety of Art books and other illustrated materials which could serve as inspiration or collage material. Week 4 - PROMPT: Out and About This week we will hold our session in Lancaster, spending some time drawing nature and drawing Plein Air! (Weather Dependant) Week 5 - PROMPT: Collaborative Drawing This week, our warm up will be the creation of a large collaborative drawing, which can be turned into books for the artists to take away with them. Week 6- PROMPT: Freewheeling In this session, we can look back on the exercises we worked on through the class - perhaps participants could suggest a theme this week, or something will come along the way.
